One Connection at a Time.

Welcome to Thrive Foundation for the Deaf
At Thrive Foundation for the Deaf, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering growth, connection, and empowerment for Black, Brown, Indigenous, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing individuals, along with their families, educators, community members, and allies. Our mission is to advance inclusive education, advocacy, and community engagement rooted in linguistic and cultural affirmation, centering the lived experiences and leadership of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other Deaf Communities of Color.
Our Story
Thrive Foundation for the Deaf was born from a grassroots vision to create affirming, language-rich environments for Black, Brown, and Indigenous Deaf children and families facing systemic barriers. What began as a community-driven initiative has grown into a national nonprofit organization advancing equity-driven education, Black, Brown, and Indigenous Deaf-led advocacy, and culturally sustaining resources.
Our journey began with a commitment to providing inclusive education, advocacy, and community engagement rooted in linguistic and cultural affirmation. We empower Black, Brown, Indigenous Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing individuals to thrive through leadership, education, advocacy, and meaningful community engagement. We are especially committed to centering the lived experiences and leadership of Black, Brown, and Indigenous Deaf communities while embracing and supporting other Deaf Communities of Color.
With over 100 years of combined experience in Deaf education, bilingual curriculum design, advocacy, and partnerships with leading institutions, our team is dedicated to building pathways that empower Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other Deaf Communities of Color to connect, grow, lead, and thrive.
Join us in our mission to foster growth, connection, and empowerment for Black, Brown, and Indigenous Deaf communities while embracing and supporting other Deaf Communities of Color. Together, we advocate for language equity, accessibility, and cultural preservation.
