Empowering Deaf Futures, One Connection at a Time.

Welcome to Thrive Foundation for the Deaf
At Thrive Foundation for the Deaf, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering growth, connection, and empowerment for Deaf, DeafDisabled, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals, along with their families, educators, community members, and allies. Our mission is to provide inclusive education, advocacy, and community engagement rooted in linguistic and cultural affirmation, especially for those from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
Our Story
Thrive Foundation for the Deaf was born from a grassroots vision to create affirming, language-rich environments for Black and Brown Deaf children and families facing systemic barriers. What started as a community-driven initiative has evolved into a national nonprofit organization focused on equity-driven education, Deaf-led advocacy, and culturally sustaining resources.
Our journey began with a commitment to providing inclusive education, advocacy, and community engagement rooted in linguistic and cultural affirmation. We empower Deaf, DeafDisabled, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals—especially from BIPOC communities—to access language, lead, teach, and thrive in their identities.
With over 100 years of combined experience in Deaf education, bilingual curriculum design, advocacy, and partnerships with leading institutions, our team is dedicated to building pathways for individuals to connect, grow, and empower themselves within the Deaf community.
Join us in our mission to foster growth, connection, and empowerment for all individuals within the Deaf community, as we continue to advocate for language equity, accessibility, and cultural preservation.
